About Single Sign-On
We require users to sign on using an existing account at one of:
- Google (any e-mail account can be set up as a Google account; you do not need to use Gmail.)
- Facebook (we only require access to your public profile)
- GitHub (we're geeks at heart)
- Apple (if you're using our iOS or web apps; currently unavailable on Android.)
Can I sign in using just a username and password?
No. We require you to sign in with an existing account at one of our supported sign-in services. This helps fight fraud and spam and makes it easier for users to quickly log in.
What if I don't want to share my "real" email address with you or don't use social media?
Apple allows anyone (regardless if you use an Apple device) to create an Apple ID. In addition, they can obfuscate your real email address behind an email relay service with "Hide my Email."
If you don't use social media, Google, Apple and GitHub accounts can be created using any existing email address.
