Why is gendered search a premium feature? Come on, this is a dating app!

Good question! Meet Kinksters is unique in a number of ways. Most dating apps - even those which purport to be inclusive - pigeonhole users into a gender binary. We know the real world is a lot more colorful 🌈 than this.

Our decision is motivated by a few factors:

• The gender binary is outdated and doesn't reflect the diversity of our kinky community. We want to encourage you to consider awesome singles who identify in ways that might be new to you.
• We're in the business of connecting awesome, kinky singles, but we also need to make money. Free-tier users are totally able to discover and connect with other local singles; it might just take a little more time and energy without this filter. If you want to optimize your search with filters like gender, it only takes a few clicks to join! (We'd still recommend you keep your filter as broad as possible, you never know who you're missing out on meeting.)

Does this mean I have to pay to see the gender identity of other users?

No. Both free-tier and premium users can view the gender of any other user. Premium users can search by gender, but there's nothing stopping free-tier users from viewing a user's gender or sexual orientation before connecting.
